NAIROBI, 4th JULY– The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has launched a fresh attack on former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration, questioning how billions of shillings in taxpayers’ money were spent despite what it says was little visible infrastructure development.

Speaking to the media, UDA Director of Communications Nathaniel Mong’are challenged the previous regime to account for public funds, arguing that the Kenya Kwanza administration is delivering major infrastructure projects that wananchi can see and benefit from.

“The question many Kenyans are asking is: What was Uhuru doing with our money?” Mong’are posed.

He said roads and transport projects currently under construction across the country demonstrate the difference between the current administration and its predecessor.

Mong’are cited the ongoing viaduct project near All Saints Cathedral along Kenyatta Avenue in Nairobi, saying it will significantly ease traffic congestion within the city.

He also pointed to the Rironi–Mau Summit highway expansion, describing it as a long-overdue project that motorists travelling to western Kenya can already see taking shape.

According to the UDA official, the projects are evidence that President William Ruto’s government is investing public resources in visible development that directly improves the lives of Kenyans.

He questioned why such key infrastructure projects were not undertaken during the previous administration despite the huge amounts of money collected from taxpayers.

Mong’are maintained that Kenyans deserve accountability over how public funds were utilised in the past and insisted that the current government will continue prioritising infrastructure development to spur economic growth and improve transport across the country.

UDA Boasts Strongest Grassroots Network, Says Ruto Is Dismantling Old System

The party declared itself the country’s most organised political party, saying its recently concluded grassroots elections established a formidable nationwide structure unmatched by its rivals.

Mong’are added that the party elected 20 officials in every polling station across the country, giving UDA an extensive grassroots network that he said its opponents lack.

“The Head of State is dismantling long-standing structures that entrenched historical marginalisation and replacing them with policies centred on equitable development, President Ruto doesn’t represent the ‘systems’,” He debunked

He said the Kenya Kwanza administration’s aggressive infrastructure programme, including the construction of 6,000 kilometres of new tarmac roads across the country, was spreading development to all regions while creating thousands of jobs.

According to Mong’are, the ongoing construction projects are fulfilling the government’s “pesa mfukoni” agenda by putting money into the pockets of ordinary Kenyans through employment and expanded economic opportunities
