Sections of independent candidates in Laikipia County have accused Jubilee’s Party Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni for issuing nomination certificates to unpopular candidates
Speaking on Monday 30th May at Independent, Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) at Nanyuki offices, immediately after depositing their papers, the candidates faulted Jubilee’s secretariat for malpractices
Led by Florence Wachira who is eyeing Thingithu Ward Member of County Assembly, unanimously, the leaders from various political seats said they were short-changed after campaigning hard to the party
“Our efforts to popularize the party in Laikipia was an exercise in futility, we were replaced with our opponents who didn’t show up in registering party members and instead were given nomination certificates,” Florence Wachira revealed.
Wachira opened that the party’s brass didn’t conduct party primaries on the stipulated date they expected and instead called those they favoured at panari hotel at Nyahururu to award them with the certificates against the political parties act
“We have since filed a suit but again we would like to show them that we can be elected on independent candidate since we have the people, we have the votes, our people knows who is worth for development and not,” She added
Her sentiments were endorsed by Steve Chege, a young turk from Nyahururu who is contesting for Laikipia county senatorial position, after working tirelessly for Jubilee party was denied a party nomination certificate
By the time of publication, Jubilee’s Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni had not received our calls nor replied our WhatsAapp texts inquiring about the same, even after showing that he had read the messages

She has been at Thingithu primary school, Temakisi Primary school, Durori primary school, Bungoma Primary School, Sweet Water Primary School, DEB Nanyuki Primary School, Njoguini Primary School, Yadi Primary School Matanya and Mirera Primary School
She told safinews.co.ke, that once elected as Member of County Assembly in August General Election, she will buy laptops and printing machines to all primary schools within her respective ward
“Since have been distributing exams papers to all primary schools using my resources will purchase the machines for schools to download and print their exams, this will instil quality education in our learning institutions,” She promised
She also said that will empower women, youths and people living with disabilities (PWDs) to enable them have a revolving fund that will bolster their hustle in every economic sector
