Machakos, Friday 14th July: Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti today toured Machakos level 5 Hospital to visit thirteen people who sustained multiple injuries during the anti-Government demonstrations on Wednesday
Speaking to media, Governor Ndeti noted that the patients have been stabilized and are on the recovery path.
“I sincerely thank the medical staff who responded swiftly to the emergency to save lives.
Unfortunately, we lost two innocent lives that succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment. My heart goes out to the bereaved families.” ~ Governor Wavinya Ndeti
Additionally, she disclosed that county government will support the treatment of those injured as well as help in meeting the expenses for the burial of those who died.
Elsewhere, in Kitui, United Democratic Alliance party Member of Parliament from Kitui East Nimrod Mbai has appealed for psychiatric tests to be done on section of kambas participating in anti government protests
“Ruto awachanwe naye, atutafutie maji. Wakamba wenye wanaenda kwa maandamano wanapaswa kupimwa akili. Nimrod Mbai underlined.
[Leave President William Ruto so that he can concentrate on implementing water projects in Ukambani. Kambas who are participating in demonstrations should be tested for psychological disease]
His sentiments were echoed by Mwala Member of Parliament Eng. Vincent Musyoka alias Kawaya appealing for larger Kamba Nation to stop protesting against President William Ruto’s government
This, he said, will enable the Kenya Kwanza Administration have ample time to bring down the development projects for the already marginalised areas like in lower eastern region which has remained lagging behind in terms of National Projects
