Donald Trump’s ban on ARVs Raises Jitters in Africa

Following the United States of America’s 47th President Donald Trump’s ban on supplying ARVs to reduce effects of HIV AIDs pandemic, Kenyan Government has revealed that no course of alarm

This revelations has been made by the Ministry of Health urging Kenyans living with HIV AIDs that there are sufficient stock for the HIV commodities that can take upto six months uninterrupted 

While addressing the media on Wednesday 29th January, Ministry of Health, Director General Dr Patrick  Amoth noted that despite US President Donald Trump directive against the HIV programmes, Kenyans won’t be affected 

“We have put strategic reserve to ensure that in case of eventualities, we can address the matters before coming up with the amicable solution. The epidemic will only hit us if our people stop taking the drugs,” Dr Amoth stated

He further, disclosed that the county government has enough supply of the HIV drugs and appealed the public to  continue with their medication without any cause of alarm. 

“The discussion has been ongoing to  ensure no missing gaps in the delivery of drugs to patient with HIV AIDs,” Dr Amoth stated disclosing that there are over 1.4 million persons receiving such treatment across the country     

He urged families to ensure those who have HIV can access the services in all public health facilities as well as advocating pregnant mothers to know theie status before delivery  

“One of the biggest contributors of HIV AIDs is mother to child transmission and we are committed to reduce the pandemic, we have directed the health professionalls in all public health facilities to test patients to asses their statuses,” he added
