Hamas on Monday denied Israeli media reports alleging that the group was rebuilding its military capabilities and preparing attacks from the Gaza Strip, saying the claims were aimed at justifying further Israeli escalation in the enclave.

Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem said in a press statement that the movement remained committed to the ceasefire agreement that took effect on October 10, despite continued Israeli violations.

Israeli officials told Kan TV on Sunday that Hamas is exploiting the truce to rebuild its infrastructure and strengthen its influence in Gaza, even as disputes continue over efforts to solidify the ceasefire

The report further stated that the Israeli military is considering reducing Gaza aid, amid suspicions that Hamas diverts funds by taxing merchants to finance its military and administrative operations.

Meanwhile, Palestinian medical sources said the bodies of two people killed in an Israeli airstrike in the Netzarim area of central Gaza on Sunday were recovered and transferred to al-Aqsa Hosp

Despite the fragile ceasefire, tensions in Gaza remain high, with continued reports of Israeli airstrikes causing casualties and ongoing disputes over humanitarian aid access and military withdrawal arrangements.
