Mwengi Mutuse tables motion to remove Gachagua

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Tuesday 1st October, knew that it’s just, a second to remove the unwanted nail using sharp razor blade, when Kibwezi West lawmaker Mwengi Mutuse astonished the country by tabling 300 signatures from legislators who wants him out.

In what was seen as shock of how the drive to impeach the second in command has been secretly guarded, no one would imagine little known, Member of Parliament from Kamba land would drive the motion before the 349 lawmakers from across the country 

The first term legislator who is from the United Democratic Alliance Party, confirmed that indeed, MPs wants to do away with Mr Gachagua following various accounts levelled against him among them corruption, abuse of office, promoting tribalism as well as treasonous charges where he’s accused of sponsoring GenZs to overthrow President William Ruto 

Mutuse, said one third of lawmakers signed a motion to remove the DP, inserting the need to have him out of the Government. He highlighted other charges, as denying people “equal opportunities for public service appointments and allocation of public resources,” according to the document.

A rift between Ruto and Gachagua has spilt into the open in recent days, with Gachagua saying he has been sidelined while denying accusations linking him and associates to demonstrations earlier in the year, in which demonstrators overran parliament.

Shockingly, Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetangula openly supported the course, as local media reported that he had fallen out with President William Ruto.
