Azimio MPs Issues midnight ultimatum over KMPDU’s strike

Azimio MPs have declared full support of planned tomorrow’s countrywide KMPDU’s strike following Health Cabinet Secretary Susan Nakhumicha’s reluctance to recruit intern doctor’s as per the tradition and also harmonise their salaries 

Speaking at Parliament Buildings on Wednesday 13th March, leaders led by National Assembly Minority Leader Opiyo Wandayi condemned Kenya Kwanza Administration for treating that sensitive matter that amounts to deaths in a casual manner

“We are very much perturbed by the way this government is handling health docket, it seems they don’t understand the critical nature in health ministry. This is the reason we are fully behind doctor’s strike beginning midnight so that this government can be compelled to proactively recruit medical interns,” Wandayi charged

He further warned that the CS should take full responsibility of any deaths that may occur from tomorrow’s planned Kenya Medical, Pharmacists and Doctor’s Union strike countrywide

“Health Cabinet Secretary has been very casual and dismissive in her approach to this matter, it could be a problem capacity.

The country is therefore staring at deaths and complications that could have been avoided those deaths and medival complications will have to be blamed on the out of touch Health CS and an uncaring Kenya Kwanza Administration,” Wandayi Stated

Wandayi sentiments that doctor’s are fighting for Kenyans and especially those with no capacity to seek health services in private hospitals and therefore must make do with public hospitals  were supported by twelve other legislators

On his part, Seme lawmaker Dr James Nyikal termed the feeling that Doctors on internship shouldn’t be paid as a total fantasy, adding that the current regime seems not to understand how to run the docket.

They’ve issued ultimatum until midnight to avert the doctor’s strike

Migori County MP Fatuma Mohamed also warned President William Ruto that she will bring all dead bodies from migori if his Government won’t avert Doctor’s strike before midnight.

She too accused Health CS Susan Nakhumicha for operating in a casual manner on matters pertaining healt 

Doctors have been demanding for health budget to be raised to 15 percent from the last audited accounts as well as government operationalizes the facility improvement fund 

“We have seen a casual, reckless,  incompetent and overly simplistic manner in which the Health CS has handled this manner,” he said
