A parliamentary aspirant from Rongai constituency has gone to court seeking orders to stop an employee of Kenya Revenue Authority from utterances aimed at turnishing her reputation.

The aggrieved aspirant Mercy Chelel while accompanied her lawyer Danstan Omari and a cross section of leaders from Rongai told journalists at Milimani law courts, that one Tonic kurui a KRA officer based in Mombasa has publicly uttered words that she should not run for a parliamentary seat since she had not gone her circumcision right.

Omari said the utterances by the KRA officer if not controlled by the court is likely to smuck violence in the constituency.

He said the officer is been put under question as provided for under chapter six of the constitution touching on leadership and integrity.

He said the constitution does not discriminate gender vality, saying circumcision should not be used as a criteria to bar a women from taking leadership in the country.

He said women in the country has taken leadership including being cabinet secretaries adding that even the judiciary is being headed by a woman.Omari further pointed out that the utterances will amount into causing ethnic violence as experienced in 2007 general election.

He said his client will be running for a parliamentary seat in UDA ticket.
