- Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua has recently given her sentiments about the events which occurred in Meru, whereby Raila’s wife Ida Odinga was booed, despite having being invited to the county.
- Mama Ida Odinga, found herself on a receiving end from DP William Ruto”s supporters in Meru. She had gone to talk to the women from members of the catholic fraternity in the county.
However, upon taking to the podium, she was not allowed to say anything of note. Mama Ida’s heckling comes just a few days after the current Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi was also jeered at a church in Meru by the congregants.
Murungi’s move to join Raila’s Azimio, appears to not have gone down well with supporters, with the Governor, reportedly on the verge of loosing his seat to Meru senator Mithika Linturi. After Raila’s wife was disrupted, Martha Karua was furious in her reaction
Karua, who joined Azimio last week after months of consultation, called for veneration of all Kenyan leaders since everyone had the right of speech, interaction and association guaranteed under the constitution
She intimated to safinews.co.ke, that Meru Senator Mithika Linturi was in charge of the heckling.
“Linturi was the person who had invited Mama Ida to talk to the Meru women yet he did nothing to stop the heckling,” She claimed.
