The County Government of Kitui will train 4,000 contractors and facilitate their registration with NCA training, Governor Dr. Julius Malombe has said.
Speaking during the laying to rest ceremony of the late Julius Mumo Ngungu at Itoleka- Kitui Central today, the Governor said 2,000 new residents will be equipped with contracting business capacity that is key in enabling their effective participation in contracts and related works within and outside the county.
“2,000 contractors earlier trained during the first term of devolution will be retrained and familiarized with new trends in the industry for effective work.” He said.
The county chief clarified that the formal communication will be made to the masses about the vital exercise through the media and other relevant channels.
He added that the training is significant in the efforts to reduce unemployment among the youth.
50 new eligible persons will be selected and trained from each of the 40 wards of the County.
