NAIROBI, July 30 (KNA) – Jubilee Party has unveiled a one-year roadmap aimed at strengthening its structures and preparing for the 2027 General Election, saying it will field candidates for all elective positions while continuing to work with other parties under the United Opposition.
Speaking during a press briefing in Nairobi on Thursday, after receiving several aspirants from Mombasa and Taba River counties who defected from other political parties, Jubilee National Chairperson Vincent Kemusi said the party had reviewed its campaign strategy for the next 12 months to enhance grassroots mobilization and recruitment of aspirants across the country.
Kemusi said Jubilee plans to nominate candidates for the presidency, governorships, Senate, National Assembly, Women Representative and Member of County Assembly seats in all electoral areas.
He said the party had established structures in more than 27 counties and would intensify public engagement through town hall meetings, business forums, grassroots outreach programmes and political rallies.
“Our focus is to strengthen the party and expand our list of aspirants as we prepare to offer leadership at every level in the next General Election,” he said.
On the party’s political strategy, Kemusi reaffirmed Jubilee’s commitment to the United Opposition, saying consultations with like-minded political parties were ongoing to foster unity ahead of the polls.
Jubilee Secretary General Moitalel Ole Kenta said the party remained committed to national unity, peace and inclusive politics, noting that it welcomes members from all parts of the country regardless of ethnicity or region.
He urged political leaders to exercise restraint in their public utterances and avoid statements that could incite division, warning that inflammatory rhetoric poses a threat to national cohesion.
Ole Kenta also called on relevant institutions to take firm action against individuals engaging in hate speech and other forms of incitement.
He said Jubilee shares the broader objectives of the United Opposition, including economic recovery, improving healthcare, strengthening the education sector, creating employment opportunities and addressing the high cost of living.
“Our objective is to work with other like-minded parties to provide leadership that responds to the needs of Kenyans and promotes national development,” he said.
Responding to whether Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka is likely to join the ruling government the party maintained that it will be hard for one of their preferred Presidential candidate to join the government.
“I don’t think our friend Kalonzo can work with Ruto, I believed him in 2012 when he declined joining our party leader Uhuru Kenyatta after later president Mwai Kibaki persuaded him to join the side of government. In any case if he dares his people (kamba) will abandon him for good because no one wants to be associated with this regime,” Ole Kenta maintained
He reminded him that it’s the highest opportune moment to rally behind all formidable forces including Linda Mwananchi faction led by Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, which he (Moitalel) denied allegations that their party leader is funding it by stating that all are working together on one common ground; to remove the sitting president from office
“Those are baseless allegations, when you want to attack someone, you malign his character, if Uhuru was funding Linda Mwananchi political activities would they have launched a pay bill number to be fundraised by poor Kenyans, it would not have gone to that extend and our party leader can’t accept Kenyans to be fleeced more,” he termed such thoughts as improper and character assassination
On party’s position, they expressed confidence that Jubilee was well prepared for the 2027 General Election, saying the implementation of the party’s roadmap would begin immediately through nationwide mobilisation and recruitment activities.
