The high court has issued an order suspending a decision to remove the president of Football Kenya Federation Abdulahi Yusuf from office.

Justice Bahati Mwamuye said the purported removal of Yusuf remains suspended pending the hearing and determination of a constitutional petition pending before the court.

The court noted that a premafacie case has been established by the petitioner’s lawyers that the purported meeting to remove the president from office was illegal.

The Judge directed that the the application and the order be served upon the National executive committee of FKF and the matter be heard inter parties on May 19th 2026.

Speaking to journalists at Milimani law courts Yusuf’s lawyers Danstan Omari and Martina swiga said the suspension of their client was illegal, saying the executive meeting of FKF is normally chaired by the President.

They said that the allegation made by the group that suspended the President to the effect that he had mis used sh 42 million has not been proved.

The lawyers pointed out that officers from EACC have visited FKF offices and have established that no funds were missing.

The lawyers told journalists that Kenya is respected worldwide in handling activities relating to sports.
