Residents of Mutiku/Kaliku Ward will now be selling farm produce from an irrigation scheme

More than 1000 households will be provided with clean and fresh water from a dry land

Kitui East Member of Parliament Nimrod Mbai has commissioned a multimillion water project in Mutiku/Kaliku Ward in Kitui East Constituency to address water scarcity in the area

The project is aimed to serve two major primary purposes: domestic water supply for over 1000 households and irrigation 

While addressing residents, Mbai emphasised the urgency of dealing with water insecurity issues. The project will cover an area of up to 8 sq Kilometres in the Mutitu North Sub County 

“Kitui East residents entrusted me with the opportunity to serve them, water insecurity is a significant issue affecting our people. I am committed to resolving this problem,” he stated 

Mbai added a five- acre mango demonstration area has been established for irrigation benchmark 

The MP assured the water project initiative will get rid of water insecurity issues and improve the lives of Kitui East residents
