KTN News has officially closed its doors and merged with its parent station, KTN Home.
The merger is part of a larger restructuring effort by the Standard Group, which owns both stations. The move is expected to streamline operations and reduce costs, allowing the company to focus on its core business.
The merger will see KTN Home absorb the news programming and staff from KTN News, with the latter ceasing operations immediately.
The new combined station will continue to provide a mix of news, entertainment, and lifestyle programming. Also shut down is Vybez radio and Farmers Tv
Journalists working for the Standard Media Group have recently complained to the commissioner for labour that they have not been paid for the last seven months
Since Kenya Kwanza Administration took power, the media company has faced multiple challenges among them cash crunch owing to lack of Government adverts which were shooting their revenues upwards
Kenya Union of Journalists demanded the company to pay workers before they move to court to demand all the monies owed by government for ads services rendered to be released forthwith so to enable the said media outlet carry it’s operations of informing the masses
