Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition’s Leader Raila has demanded that President William Ruto has to reduce the cost of unga

Addressing press on Wednesday 12th July, amidst countrywide demonstrations, Raila told Ruto that Kenyans are tired of high cost of living inder his ‘illegitimate administration’

“I want to thank all Kenyans from across the country for coming out in large numbers to show their disapproval to the current regime.

Nashukuru sana kwa ujasiri wenu, ukakamavu wenu na ushapavu wenu kwa kujitokeza kwa wingi kuandamana ili kulazimisha hii serikali iwajibike,” Raila underscored

He underlined the urgency of reducing university as well as secondary school fees which has seen sharp increase since the inception of the Ruto’s administration

However, opposition’s chief condoled with the families which has lost their loved ones in the melee of protests owing them bravely to demand for the just society and democratic space

Azimio staged countrywide demonstrations with some of the areas perceived to be Kenya Kwanza’s bedroom like Kirinyaga and Nanyuki towns trending online for the better part of the day

In Kirinyaga, protesters demanded President William Ruto to listen to poor Kenyans and stop humiliating low income earners and jobless people

“Hata kama wewe ni Zakayo, umepanda juu ya mti akiamungu utashuka na ukikatalia juu tutachukua power saw tuukate, mpaka ukanyange chini!

Bei ya unga nimesema iko juu kuliko sufuria, itashuka lini? Zabuni iko na bei kali kuliko karai ile unaogea mwaka mzima!

Sasa hii serikali-yaani ulituambia ni bottom up! Tuache kunyanyasa mwanachi wa kawaida, tukifikiria wale wako juu- mwananchi atakuwa ashaisha tayari,” Angry protesters proverbialy wilded
