Carry Out Your Duties Diligently – Lusaka Tells New Officers

Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka has called on the newly sworn Chief Officers to carry out their duties diligently and professionally.

“As we congratulate you on your new roles today, I also urge you to execute your roles diligently and professionally,” said Governor Lusaka.

Those sworn in were; Evelyn Wekesa (Public Administration), Reuben Wambwa (Trade, Energy and Industrialization) and Robert Simiyu (Agriculture and Livestock).

As the accounting officers, Governor Lusaka urged them to make thorough verifications before making any payments to ensure the taxpayers money is used well and for the intended purpose.

“You are the accounting officers, the back stops at you. Never approve any payment for what hasn’t been verified,” warned Lusaka.

The county boss also stated that the Trade Loans regulations had been fowarded to the County Assembly for enactment into law which will pave way for the release of the funds which is in tandem with Kenya Kwanza’s Bottom Up Economic Model.

Lusaka also stated that Kipsigon and Chwele Markets are set for major upgrade in this financial year 2023/2024

He also announced the creation of a new department at Ministry of Health and Sanitation; the department of Public Health which will be headed by a Chief Officer and a Director.

Deputy Governor Janepher Mbatiany, Kanduyi Member of Parliament John Makali, Members of the County Assembly led by Speaker Emmanuel Situma among other senior county officials were present.
