Public Service Cabinet Secretary Justin Muturi has now claimed that Kenya’s Intelligence agency was behind the abduction of his son last year
In a statement recorded at DCI on Tuesday 14th, Muturi alleged that the National Intelligence Service took his son Leslie Muturi on January 22, 2024
This comes days after the CS, hit out at the government about the increased abductions in the wake of protests saying that it can’t be excused from the activities
Muturi, who is in government, was an affected party after the disappearance of his son who was later released. His comments came as huge surprise as it was perceived as going against the smidgen.
In his bowed statement, Muturi is calling President William Ruto to sack him if he so desires, for protecting his family from illegal abduction just like any other parent
This has resulted in speculation mounting over his future in President William Ruto’s administration
While he was briefing the media on Sundat, January 12, at Sarova Hotel, Muturi stated that little was done to secure his son’s release despite his standing at the time. He served as an Attorney General and a member of the National Security Council

On the flipside, DCI responded to Muturi that the case about his son was still active at Kiliamni Police station and only the abductee recorded a statement. They invited Muturi and any other Kenyan who has the information about who abducted his son to come and record a statement
On contrast, Aldai legislator Marianne Kitany went as far as demanding for his resignation adding that she would file a censure motion in Parliament if he failed to step down

“CS Justin Muturi should resign. He cannot critique a government of which he is a part; it simply isn’t possible. If he does not resign, I will sponsor a censure motion against him in parliament,” Kitany stated.
“Cabinet is the highest decision-making body in the Republic of Kenya. Justin Muturi is a member of this Cabinet, and it is there that he should have sought answers concerning the abduction of his son,” she added.
