
The university, failed to include his name in the graduation ceremony scheduled on September 26.
The high court has declined to issue an order directing united States international university to include the name of the Deputy Inspector General of Police Gilbert Masengeli as one of the graduates who will participate in the graduation ceremony to be held on 26 th September 2026.
Justice Patricia Nyaudi directed that the application by the applicant ( Masengeli) be served upon the university and the matter be heard inter partes on 21 September 2026.
The aggrieved DIG through his lawyers cicil miller, Danstan Omari, Stanley kinyanjui and Martina swiga told the court that the administration of the university had failed to disclose to the applicant the status of his PHD desis.
The lawyers told the court that it was the responsibility of the university to have communicated to the applicant and the requirements they needed so as to have him enlisted as one of the graduates.

Masengeli is pursuing a doctorate degree in international relations.
