Sixteen Political Parties led by National Liberal Party Leader Dr Augustus Kyalo Muli have today demanded President William Ruto listens to the voice of GenZ and clear all hospital bills for yesterday’s injured protesters.
Speaking in Nairobi, on 19th June, flanked by National Liberal Party’s Secretary General Ishmael K’yoo, Muli pleaded with the Kenya Kwanza Administration do suspend suspend the Finance Bill, 2024 and listens to the voice of taxpayers who have in totality rejected it’s proposals.
“Mr President, you went every part of the country seeking our votes, you visited Western, Kisumu, Kitui, Machakos and North Eastern looking for votes where you pledged to be true Christian. The Bible says, the voice of people is the voice of God and the people of Kenya have rejected finance bill so you have no obligation than to listen to them
Muli said that the aggrieved parties demanded immediate cessation of all such tactics and call for accountability for perpetuating and ordering such unjust acts to the public
“The right to peaceful demonstrations is the fundamental pillar of any democracy and it’s suppression through excessive force is unacceptable,” he added
Flanked by Secretary Generally Ishmael K’yoo, he described of unforeseen chest thumbing that is being characterised by section of current regime’s powerful individuals that needs to be stopped
He informed government that they can rule peacefully if they listen to the voice of people and stop burdening Kenyans from excessive taxation
