The Kitui County Public Service Board today concluded a verification exercise for casual workers employed under the County Government of Kitui in Mutitu, Kaliku, and Zombe Wards of Kitui East Sub-County.
Speaking during the closure of the exercise, Kitui County Public Service Board Chairperson Dr. Florence Makindi commended the casual workers for their cooperation throughout the process.
She emphasized that the exercise sought to streamline the management of casual workers and address their welfare effectively.

“This verification exercise has provided us with valuable insights into the number of casual workers, their roles, and terms of engagement. With this data, the County Government is now in a better position to develop policies that will enhance fairness, accountability, and compliance with labor standards” she stated.
Dr. Makindi further reiterated the County Government’s commitment to improving the working conditions and livelihoods of its workforce, highlighting plans to address wage disparities, provide better tools and resources, and ensure timely payments for casual workers.

The exercise, which began earlier in the week, was part of the County Government’s broader efforts to promote accountability and efficiency in service delivery.
The chair, was accompanied by Board members, Francis Kiliku, David Munyao, Joseph Kyavoa, Hassan Mutubwa and Winfred Tumbo.
