President William Ruto Appoints General Francis Ogolla CDF

President William Ruto has today appointed Lieutenant General Francis Omondi Ogolla as the Chief of Defence Forces taking over from General Robert Kibuchi

According to statement seen by safinews.co.ke on Friday 28th, April from the Ministry of Defence, Ogolla has been promoted to General and subsequently appointed as CDF

“His Excellency President William Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, Pursuant to Section 9(2) a of the Kenya Defence Forces Act, has today promoted Lieutenant General Francis Omondi Ogolla to the rank of the General and appointed him as Chief of Defence Forces (CDF),”. Part of statement read.

Prior to this appointment, General Ogolla was the Vice Chief of Defence Forces.

General Francis Omondi Ogolla replaces General Robert Kibuchi whose term of service honourably comes to an end after 44 years of illustrious military career

The President has also has appointed Lieutenant General Jonah Mwangi as the Vice Chief of Defence Forces.

Prior to this appointment, Lieutenant General Mwangi was the Vice Chancellor to the National Defence University-Kenya

Major General Said Farah takes over from Lieutenant General Jonah Mwangi as the Vice Chancellor National Defence University-Kenya

Further, on the advice of the Defence, chaired by Hon. Aden Duale, Cabinet Secretary for Defence, which met today, the President upheld council’s recommendations and made various promotions, postings and appointments of KDF officers
