Kewopa urges parents to report their children joining in the criminal enterprises
Threatened to name Mungiki financiers and their sympathisers
Nyandarua County MP led the legislators in condemning the resurgence supported by Dagorret North MP Beatrice Elachi
Women Members of Parliament from Mt Kenya region have yet again accused the former Mungiki Leader Maina Njenga, for what they termed attempted resurgence of the outlawed sect
Speaking at Parliament Buildings on Wednesday 6th December, the legislators led by Nyandarua Women Representative Faith Gitau, threatened to name financiers of the sect
We know those who are sponsoring these criminals, we shall name them and demand public arrest if our security systems do not work,” Gitau stated
She further divulged that gangsters are regrouping from Mt Kenya to forcibly circumcise their children without the consent of the parents
“We will have to defend our kids. We will not allow anyone to violate rights of our kids. This is unacceptable. Our constitution must be protected,” she added
On the same breath, Dagorret North legislator Beatrice Elachi, condemned the resurgence of criminal gangs saying that women bears the most painful brunt when their children are murdered
“We would to advise parents to talk to their children not to join the outlawed sect that is terrorizing members of the society. We have to name those who are hell-bent to facilitate criminality against the tenets of our constitution,” Elachi pointed out
They said that those suffering are innocent kenyans calling upon the parents hiding their children committing the heinous acts to bring them to correctional services
“Kenya is not a banana republic,” she added
