Former Laikipia County Women Representative aspirant Purity Kendi Gitonga has been nominated as Chief Executive Committee Member for Public Service and County Administration in the County Government of Laikipia 

Speaking to Safi News on Friday 14th July, Ms Gitonga thanked Laikipia County Governor His Excellency Joshua Irungu for according her such a prestigious an  opportunity to showcase her expertise in service delivery 

“Am very happy and I give God all the Glory,my focus will be on service delivery to the people of Laikipia and help the government achieve it’s goal,” She told Safinews.co.ke

Ms Gitonga has been championing for the rights of the vulnerable groups from girl child to the downtrodden people in the whole of Laikipia county which is domiciled by maa community who are majorly pastarolists

On his part, Laikipia County Governor Joshua Iringu, noted that, Ms Gitonga will bring sanity in the laikia county public service and bring on-board an inclusive workforce in the public sector 

“We want service delivery to the people of Laikipia be given much more attention and make sure that every community is well represented in every ministry and department under my leadership.

This is the only thing we can align our performances with that of Kenya Kwanza Administration headed by His Excellency President William Ruto,” Irungu underscored.

Gitonga’a appointment to the county government was received warmly by Laikipia people praising her for the philanthropic activities she has been spearheading 

She is reported to have positively impacted the society even going into her pocket to clear hospital bills for vulnerable patients and buying wheelchairs for the persons living with disabilities 

Ms Gitonga, was eyeing the seat under United Democratic Alliance [UDA] party, but lost during party primaries and hoped into independent candidate which again lost to Ms Jane Gakiri of UDA
