Kenyans did not expect another presidential aspirant to join the State House race, which is already known as a two-horse race, with only 113 days until the general elections.
Following the withdrawal of Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi, Justin Muturi, and Moses Wetangula from the race, Kenyans knew it would be either Raila Odinga or William Ruto.
That has changed now that a new candidate has entered the tumultuous race to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Faith Wairimu of the Manifest Church of God has entered the race as an independent candidate, challenging Raila, Ruto, and Jimmy Wanjigi in the August election.
Speaking at her official campaign launch on Sunday, Wairimu urged Kenyans to come out and support her as she seeks the presidency.
“We will continue to consider ways to protect our business people so that our companies do not close due to pandemics or difficult economic times. I’m thinking about our university students; we’ll work to increase the helb loans they receive “Wairimu explained.
