In a devastating incident, a lorry carrying over 10 passengers was swept away by flooded River Kwa Muswii at Kasikeu area, Sultan Hamud.

As of this report’s filing, rescue efforts had successfully retrieved two women from the water.
Unconfirmed reports indicate that over 10 have died, while the fate of the remaining 8 passengers remained uncertain.
“This is too bad. Waiting for like an hour could have saved them. What was the hurry for?” Eyewitness Barnard Kilonzo lamented.
Apart from feeling sorry for the victims, Kenyans on social media condemned the driver and passengers for risking their lives.
The incident comes less than a month since a bus from Umma Express Ltd was travelling to Nairobi when it was swept away.
The video captured the bus slipping off while the driver was attempting to cross over the flooded river in the Chuma Mrefu area
