He said that over 62 million people have subscribed to mobile because of 5G network by expanding digital infrastructure
Chairperson of the Association of Professional Broadcasters (APB) Ms Tabitha Mutemi encouraged Journalists and broadcasters to continue strengthening their unity and supporting one another, especially during difficult times.
She urged media practitioners to remain united and work together for the growth of the industry.
Mutemi emphasized the importance of continuous training and adapting to modern trends, including embracing current technology in the media sector.
She further encouraged journalists and broadcasters to join professional associations, noting that such organizations help improve skills, offer support, and promote professional growth in the media industry.

While inviting PS to give his keynote address Secretary information, Department of Information and Broadcasting at the Ministry of Information, Communications and Digital Economy Mr Temesi Mukani said the theme’s agenda AI, Cloud, and the Future of Broadcast in Africa,” reflects the rapid changes taking place in broadcasting and digital media through Artificial Intelligence, cloud infrastructure and digital platforms.

Mukani noted that emerging technologies are creating new opportunities for African broadcasters by lowering production barriers, expanding audience reach and enabling local storytellers to share authentic African stories on a global scale.
They also emphasized the importance of collaboration between governments, regulators, broadcasters and technology companies to ensure innovation strengthens public trust and supports a competitive regional media industry.
