Residents of Ngomeni and Muumoni Wards in Mwingi North Sub-County are the latest beneficiaries of Governor Charity Ngilu’s empowerment and wealth creation initiative.

Sixty six organized groups in Mitamisyi, Kimela/Syumani, Kavaani/Ikime, Kalwa/Kamusilu, Katse, Mutanda, Nguuku, Kakuyu/Kyandali, Ngungani, Mukong’a and Tyaa villages today received Sh.2,600,000 in empowerment fund cheques.

Trade Chief Officer Fernandes Mbindu and County Fund Administrator Dorothy Mumangi coordinated the cheque distribution exercise in conjunction with Civic Education Assistant Directors Shadrack Musyoki and Joel Wambua.

The funds, loaned from a revolving kitty, will go a long way in boosting income generating ventures undertaken by the women, youth, PLWDs and bodaboda operators groups.
