The National Assembly has started loading riffles in their guns to oust the four IEBC commissioners who walked away during the declaration of contested Presidential results on 15th August, 2022 at Bomas of Kenya

The four had differed with their Chairman Wafula Chebukati for what they termed opaqueness during the final tallying of presidential votes, this, orchestrated them to disown the final results, washing their hands on public

But according to documents seen by safinews.co.ke on Friday 9th September, Farmers Party, an offshoot of Kenya Kwanza, had petitioned Parliament to remove Juliana Cherera, vice-chairperson of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), and three other commissioners.

Mr Justus Nyanga’ya, Irene Masit, and Francis Wanderi are the three commissioners who, together with Cherera, have spoken out against chairperson Wafula Chebukati’s pronouncement of William Ruto as president-elect.

Oscar Kimani, the Farmers Party’s chief of communication, delivered a message to the news outlets indicating that the removal of the four IEBC Commissioners is in accordance with Kenya’s constitution

“The petition for the expulsion of four IEBC commissioners following their effort to undermine an electoral process on August 15, 2022, at the Bomas of Kenya.”

The petition will be introduced once it has been passed on the floor of the National Assembly. In line with article 251,3 of the 2010 constitution, the president will create a tribunal to remove the commissioners from office.

Kenya Kwanza members allege that the commissioners’ severe misbehaviour violated the constitution. The commissioners lack the integrity to continue serving at the IEBC office.

Aden Duale, MP for Garissa Town, had already warned the four commissioners that their actions would not go unpunished.

Duale also stated that they will introduce legislation to remove the IEBC’s inept commissioners and replace them immediately.
