Kitui East MP Nimrod Mbai sought President to address the perennial community clashes at the borders

He also humbly requested the construction of Kitui-Zombe road touching Nzambani and Kyaamatu

The local leaders promised to deliver more votes to Ruto’s basket come 2027

Kitui East Member of Parliament Nimrod Mbai has pleaded with the President William Ruto to consider all other un-elected leaders from Kitui county

In unwavering words, Mbai could not forget to mention Makueni and Machakos un-elected leaders to be also remembered in the current administration for they’d put spirited fight but failed in the recent General Elections

Speaking during thanksgiving service at Central Primary School in AIC township, Mbai said that it’s an honor for President to visit them and added that people of Kitui are ready to work with the current government until they maximize all Kenya Kwanza projects and the ones that will be under pipeline

He also requested the national government to provide security officers with vehicles and fuel

“Barabara ya kitui ilikwama kabla ya kufika mbondoni and we request that you complete it, kunai le barabara ya Zombe hiyo uliambia niachane nayo laikini unajua Jacob aling’ang’ana na malaika mpaka asubuhi ndio angemwachilia sijui angempata wapi so itabidi tulale kwa murkomen mpaka asubuhi,’’ Mbai said

The vocal legislator who has been nominated twice under the Ruto’s faction said that the areas affected by banditry including Mutha, Inyali, Ukasi and Mwingi has lacked logistics at the police station to pursue herders torturing the residents

In responding to Mbai, Ruto told county commissioner and eastern region security boss to move with speed without extra excuses to combat the intruders invading Kitui residents and torturing them

“Nataka Eastern Regional Commissioner, County commissioner na wale wengine wafanye kazi saa hii kwasababu nimewapatia pesa zenu ziko na IG, ministry ya security haitakuwa na pesa za polisi tena kwaivyo sitaki excuse,” Ruto ordered.

Mbai further added that Kitui County is a drought area and with the help of Governor Dr Julius Malombe, who has mapped out the strategies to address water scarcity, the government can construct mega sand dams or tap waters from rivers to supply residents with fresh drinking water

He also appealed National Government to put up Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) and Nzambani hospital in honor of the late constitutional lawyer Nzamba Kitonga who died in 2020.

This was a reminder from retired former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s promise to the people of Kitui that the government will install a memorial honor at Nzambani shopping centre during the late’s funeral service,” Mbai pleaded

Mbai said that with consultation with the county government which has already allocated a piece of land for the construction of the same amenities, those projects will be helpfull to the residents of Kitui county if supported by the national government- Governor Malombe confirmed
