The giant telecommunications firm Safaricom has announced that Mpesa services on its apps are unavailable
In a statement on Thursday 27th July, the telecos said that mobile services are down on the mpesa and safaricom apps
However, Mpesa services are working as usual on the SIM card tool kit as well as the USSD Code
The hitches has been reported by Kenya Power and Lighting Company announcing outages in purchase of electricity tokens using MPESA services due to a network breakdown from the service provider
“Consequently some of our services such as the purchase of prepaid tokens through Mpesa and USSD code *977# are unavailable. We apologise for our customers for the inconvenience cause,” the company’s notice read.
The firm has advised customers to purchase tokens from the firm’s banking halls, Airtel Money and authorised banks as it works to restore the affected services as soon as possible
