Obengo, blasted Panyako for using position of Kenya National Union of Nurses to benefit himself
United Democratic Alliance Party’s SG Cleopas Malala termed Panyako’s rants as unfounded, irrational and baloney
However, Panyako has come out clearing the air that he’s yet to tender his official resignation letter even after falling apart with the party’s top brass
Former President of National Nurse’s Association of Kenya, Alfred Obengo now says embattled UDA’s Vice Chair, Seth Panyako’s shelf life in leading nurses has expired
In a scathing attack, Obengo told Tuko.co.ke that, Panyako should accept humiliation since he used nurses’ union position to furtherance his political gerrymandering
“You are a disgrace to the nursing profeession, been SG of the union for years without an election, when you went to Ruto, you didn’t consult nurses, now that the deal has gone sour, you want to come back?. Ex-boss for NNAK, Alfred Obengo pointed
He said it was time for Panyako, former Deputy Vice Chairperson of the United Democratic Alliance [UDA], to stop using nurses’ union for his political pursuit
“Panyako was running a briefcase union as nurses were leaving the union following his greedy to benefit himself in a detriment to nursing profeession
He should go and perform his political somersaults in his village home. Good riddance!,” He exclaimed
Mr Obengo further urged nurses to quit the union for they are not shareholders to Panyako’s leadership
“Dear colleagues. Dear Nurses; IT’S TIME TO LET KNUN AND PANYAKO GO. The time is Now. Don’t prolong the Trauma. He adds no value to the nursing profession,” He added.
Obengo who has been in longer heads with the former Kakamega senatorial aspirant claims that Panyako said he prefers leading nurses for they don’t hold him into account.
“He has said that nurses don’t hold him accountable for his words and deeds. Please don’t accept to belong to this group of nurses. You’re not a shareholder in KNUN. QUIT!!
Panyako is the epitome of hypocrisy and ludicrous leadership in the labour movement. Nothing defines him better than a freelance mercenary and kleptomaniac,”Obengo reiterated
On 27th May, the union boss resigned as deputy chairperson of the United Democratic Alliance after he allegedly opposed the unpopular initiative of 3 per cent housing levy proposed in the Finance Bill 2024
Reports, however, claimed that Panyako was angered after failing to land a key position in government.
However Panyako’s utterances were thwarted by bona fide UDA’s Secretary General Cleophas Malala noting that the former did not hold any office in the rulling party
