Nominated Senator Crystal Asige, a member of Kenya’s Senate representing the interests of persons with disabilities, women, and youth, an award-winning artist and the founder of The Crystal Asige Foundation has been featured in the prestigious TIME100 Next 2024, an honor that highlights emerging leaders shaping the future.

Asige is widely known for her advocacy for persons with disabilities in Kenya and was recognized for her efforts in pushing impactful legislation.

“I would never have seen this coming in a million years. What an absolute honor! Making this year’s TIME100 Next list of influential leaders shaping the future of their fields and defining the next generation of leadership hasn’t sunk in at all,” Asige said.


“It has been proven to me time and time again that disability itself does not discriminate; people do. It’s about time that Kenyans and Africans at large realize what we can bring to the table if only they look beyond what they see,” she added.
