In a weekly updates from Government’s Spokesperson Sen Dr. Isaac Mwaura, told naysayers to keep off from criticising President’s foreign trips as they are yielding more fruits for the development and bilateral ties of the country
“Out of 45 billion shillings, 15 billion will be used in production of rice in Mwea Irrigation Scheme in Meru county so as to lower the cost of rice in Kenya. Another 9 billion will be used to install solar power in Isiolo to reduce the cost of electricity and spur economic growth,” Mwaura announced
The solar energy ejected will increase power grid as well as environmental sustainability and lower the price of electricity per unit
Another amount is set to produce power at Geothermal Development Company which will be supplied by KenGen in an effort to supply power in every village
“The price of electricity will drop at ksh 3.44 per unit after the government’s interventions in production of power and solar panel installation at Isiolo,” Government Spokesperson Sen Dr. Isaac Mwaura assured Kenyans
On farming, Mwaura advised farmers not to sell their maize to brokers as he announced that government will buy maize at Ksh 4000 per 90KG bag to be stored in all National Cereals and Produce Boards across the country
Also, Kenya Kwanza Administration has increased increased price of milk from Sh45 in the previous administration to Sh55 which will be processed by new kenya cremaries company
Additionally, farmers from Makueni, Machakos and Kitui counties have been advised to take their mug beans (Ndengu) at nearby National Cereals and Produce Boards [NCBP] to be bought by government promptly at Ksh70 per kilograms
Yellow beans and white beans will be bought at 100 shillings and 90 shillings respectively
Mwaura also said government is employing agricultural officers in every ward to help advise farmers on the best farming methods to reduce harvest and post harvest losses
On education matters, Government reiterated that school fees will be paid through newly announced E-Citizen platform to curb corruption by some heads of institutions and Boards of Management
“I know many are opposing this initiative but it’s the way to go for Kenya Kwanza Administration, we don’t want our parents to pay what’s not prescribed by the ministry of education,” Government’s Spokesperson Sen Dr Isaac Mwaura reiterated
