Kenya NationalExaminationd Council urged parents and 2023 KCSE candidates to access this year’s results via KNEC’s online portal
Patents were required to input their index number and their names as per the registration data for the 2023 KCSE examination.
“Individual 2023 KCSE candidates’ examination results will be accessed online through a link on the KNEC website or directly through the URL: www.results.knec.ac.ke. You will be required to enter the candidate’s index number and the name (s) as per the registration data for the 2023 KCSE examination,” a statement from KNEC read in part.Kenyans from all walks shared their frustrations as the KNEC online portal is inaccessible
Two hours after the Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu released the results, many students and parents are still stuck as the website is not functioning properly owing to the bulk online requests
Minutes after the release, over milion internet users had logged in the website but it wouldn’t show results
This directive follows after the National Assembly Committee on Education chaired by Tinderet Member of Parliament Julius Melly questioned the education officials as to why Safaricom is charging exorbitant rates to access KCPE and KCSE results
MPs pushed for government’s funding for the services of receiving national results so as to alleviate the suffering Kenyans from being charged for accessing government’s services
But on the demand, CS Machogu assured MPs that he will have to sit with Ministry of Information Communication and Technology as well as Telecos to discus the viability and cost sharing for the services
Until the date of releasing 2023 KCSE results, means consensus has not been reached thus why candidates have been forced to travel to school or use the KNEC URL website to access the results which experiences delays
