The Senate Standing Committee on Education, chaired by Senator Betty Montet, is currently in Kitui to assess the status of the Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programs.
The visit seeks to evaluate the progress made in the devolved education sector in the county.
During a session at the Governor’s boardroom earlier today, the senators commended the county for the strides made in improving the educational infrastructure and called for continued efforts to enhance the learning environment for ECDE children.
The committee’s findings will play a crucial role in shaping future policy decisions aimed at improving educational outcomes for the children of Kitui and Kenya at large.
The senators will today visit a few ECDE centers to assess their status in the county.
Senators Agnes Kavindu, Catherine Mumma, John Kinyua, Kamau James Murango, and Prof. Margaret Kamar—the Vice Chairperson of the committee—were present.
