Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is only popular in Murang’a and Kirinyanga counties with slightly 37 per cent and 21 per cent according to the latest polls conducted between 25th September and 16th October, 2025 by research 8020 limited led by Anthony Ndiragu

While releasing the nationwide opinion poll that ranked Embakasi Member of Parliament Babu Owino as most liked politician by GenZs and former Interior and National Administration Dr Fred Matiang’i as most preferred presidential candidate outsmarting Gachagua’s influence even in his backyard central region counties.

Mr Ndirangu, who took journalists in Narobi’s hotel how they conducted the computer telephone polls reaching 3430 respondents from all 47 counties defended that their research was scientific based on quantitative analysis and they considered all demographics from all counties

Gachagua commands only 37 per cent of voters in Kirinyanga and 31 per cent of voters in Murang’a while Matiang’i commands a sizeable  

The findings showed that the adult voter population is 22 million with GenZs taking the lead with 11.1 million voters followed by millennials by 6 million registered voters

Nationwide, preferred presidential candidate are President William Ruto who was below Matiang’i with 21 per cent and 24 per cent respectively.

Cost of living, unemployment and poor healthcare are ranked as most of pressing issues by Kenyans calling for an immediate intervention from those responsible

The counties by percentages which would like their senator to be retained are Makueni with 77 per cent, Nyandarua 75, Vihiga 74, Migori 70, Uasin Gishu 70, Turkana 68, Nairobi 67, Samburu 67, Murang’a 64, Homa Bay 64, Nyeri 64, Kwale 62, West Pokot 62, Kajiado 61, Kilifi 59, Kericho 59, Nyamira 59, Meru 58, Busia 58, Bomet 58, Kisumu 57, Nandi 57, Marsabit 56, Kakamega 56, Kirinyaga 55, Wajir 54, Siaya 53, Narok 53, Mandera 52, Isiolo 51 and Tharaka Nithi 51%
