Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka Musyoka has demanded President William Ruto to refund all the citizens paid for 300 shillings while applying for new identification cards and 1000 shillings for those who applied for replacement
While Speaking at Joska during book launch of Reverend Gladys Muthui of Gospel Outreach Ministry, Kalonzo wondered as he sought to know how can President Ruto abolish charges for the issuance of IDs while he is the one who introduced them and yet expects Kenyans to support himÂ
“He himself [Ruto] and someone called Bitok [PS, State Department of Immigration and Citizens Services] are the ones who introduced these punitive charges to our youths applying for national identity cards and at the same time wants people to clap for him when he abolishes after knowing that he can’t be elected 2027! Who is fooling who?,” Kalonzo sought answers from head of state
He further stated that Ruto must have a mental problem if he thinks he’s been given 10 names meaning 10 years of rule, reminding him that the names are an indication that people are tired of his administration following series of abductions, people being killed and excessive taxation to salaried citizens
Kalonzo faulted Ruto led leadership for not restoring 24 hour economy where several companies have been reported to have closed their operations in Kenya and relocated to other countries due to bad policies and over-taxation
“One of the clergy is being given 20 million shillings and promised another day 100 million shillings whereas youths who graduated from universities are jobless_instead of creating a power hub economy; we will have to take the power of this country back to it’s position,” Kalonzo maintained
He maintained that he will only meet Ruto while handing over the instruments of power to him_ stating that they were worried of the strongest wave of revolution and thus why they were lying that he’d gone to state house to meet Mr Ruto.
While weighing on Presidential pronouncements of purchasing chapati making machine for Nairobi county students under the Governor Johnson Sakaja’s Dishi na County Programe, Kalonzo termed it as a non priority which again could be another lie where education systems and university funding should have carried the day
He challenged the selection panel for Independent, Electoral and Boundaries Commission to come up with names of integrity people who will be the next IEBC commissioners so as to conduct free, fair, credible and verifiable elections in the next couple of months and the next General Election of 2027_posing rule of law must be strictly adhered
He congratulated Reverend Gladys Muthui for writing her first book entitled Moving Beyond Limitation citing that waita environment, tseikuru and usuein where the pastor hails from and her husband are remote and marginalized areas that they need perseverance and dedication to overcome the challenges
“I want to encourage you to continued writing more books to inspire and instil hope for the hopeless, you relocated to this area just three years ago but you have made a positive impact within a very short period of time. You are a beacon of hope but you have to recognise the centrality of the Jesus,” Former Vice President recited
Earlier in the day, Kalonzo had attended the 10th Memorial Service of Justice Kasanga Mulwa at the family’s Lukenya Hills Farm where he remembered justice Kasanga as was an exceptional man whose legacy of service and dedication in law and community was comparable to none.
Dr Musyoka was accompanied by Makueni County Senator Dan Maanzo, Mavoko MP Hon. Patrick Makau, Mwingi North MP Paul Nzengu and Advocate Ndegwa Njiru among others.
Others were Senator Sylvia Kasanga, Makueni County Speaker Douglas Mbilu, and PLO Lumumba who accompanied him at late Kasanga’s home at Lukenya Hills in Machakos County.
