Kilifi Governor Gideon Mung’aro has blamed national security agencies for sleeping on their job over the Shakahola massacre distancing county government from such responsibility

Speaking at Citizen TV on Tuesday 25th April, Mung’aro said that the responsibility of security lies squarely to the national government and not county government

“Security is not under the governorship project, we would be chairs of security but since we have county commissioners, then they should be responsible and accountable for everything pertaining security breach.

There’s something fishy, there must be someone who knows everything about the Shakahola incidents, those who are victims they must have been using bodaboda, tuktuk or taxi or any other means of transport but those who assisted them to get there never revealed anything! It’s a bizarre,”  Mung’aro wondered

The former Kilifi North Member of Parliament told citizen tv that he cannot be blamed for such lapses of intelligence details which has emanated into genocide at Pastor Paul Mackenzie’s farm

Asked about the possibility of two religious organisations practicing cultism in his county of Kilifi, the former mayor, pleaded with the national security agents to help him unravel the elements from indoctrinating hence killing his people

“I have never known this man until 2019 when the charlatan was charged at Malindi Law Courts, this is because I moved from Malindi to Kilifi North and have not been in touch with all the people living in Malindi,” He added

Mr Mung’aro defended himself saying that Shakahola forest is thickest and it requires homicide detectives and other trained personal to dig deeper as well as cutting down the trees ro pave way for identification of graves and subsequent exhumations
