Former Mombasa Governor and the CS nominee for Mining, Blue economy and Maritime affairs Hassan Ali Joho has sparked mixed reactions on how humble background can make someone’s determination unstoppable
While appearing before the National Assembly Appointments Committee, Joho, was very proud to announce to the whole world that he scored a D minus at KCSE, and that has made him work hard
‘’Yes, it’s true I got D- in my Secondary education. But I turned that around. Today I hold two degrees. I am on my pathway to attain a Master’s Degree from the most prestigious university in the world Harvard Kennedy University. I drew my inspiration from professor Ali Mazrui did not succeed in his Cambridge examination to be admitted in university for his first degree,’’ Joho described his life endorsing himself as the councillor of hope and to destitute

He disclosed in 2006, did a bridging course to enable him be admitted to university where he did a dimple in 2007 and eventually graduated from Kampala University in 2013. He never stooped there, he did another degree at Gretsa University and then enrolled in Harvard Kennedy School of Government
Joho said that he’s the beacon of hope to those who got D minus owing to their poor background or other unavoidable circumstances that they should never stop pursuing education if they get an opportunity to study

His success did not end there, leaving Kenyans admiring him most for adding his handsome looks into another attractive spices for being in the list of wealthy club
He disclosed that he is worth Sh2 billion. Accumulated from developing an undeveloped property where he clarified that the wealth is just his share and not that of the family.
“Largely developed and undeveloped property, which includes my homes in Mombasa, Vipingo, Malindi, and Nairobi. Shareholding in some property holdings, shareholding in family businesses, valuables and cash at bank,” he said.
Joho previously served as Kisauni MP for five years and Governor for 10 years.
He also is a founder and director of Prima Pest and Bins Ltd, the first garbage collection company in Mombasa.
He is also the founder, M-tech Kenya and East Africa Terminals
