The County Government of Kitui will begin the payment of the first lot of pending bills by end of April, Governor Dr. Julius Malombe (EGH) has said.
Speaking at Katheka earlier today during the burial mass of four youths who lost their lives in a road accident near Kabati recently, the Governor said the payments will be done on the first in first out basis as recommended by the committee on review of pending bills.
Governor Malombe said his administration is working on reviving and improving different sectors of development noting that his government advertised the CLIDP projects this week, hired ECDE teachers permanently, disbursed Pro Poor funds to over 200 learners in each of the 40 wards and was on the verge of ensuring the health facilities have sustainable drugs and non pharmaceuticals supply to better health services across Kitui and deliver his 16 sector growth plan dubbed “The Kitui Promise “.
“I have told my team that we have a duty to correct any mess of the previous administration and deliver on improving our people’s lives. We cannot keep on focusing on the previous mistakes. We want the national government to do the same. He said.
The Governor also said his government will serve all the people of Kitui indiscriminately to ensure no area lags behind in development.
On the bipartisan talks, Governor Malombe lauded the Catholic church for the advocacy for peace through dialogue to allow the nation to focus on development.
The burial committee chairperson Nick Mulila commended the Governor for supporting the send off ceremony that has affected the larger Katheka area.
Other leaders present were Area MP Hon. Edith Nyenze, County MP Hon. Kasalu (Dr), area MCA Hon Gabriel Mutunga and Matinyani MCA Sylvester Munyalo among others.
Kitui Catholic Bishop Rt. Rev Joseph Mwongela presided over the mass.
