ICC: Lobby group alerts internatiobal court over crimes against humanity

A lobby group has disclosed to have issued an alert to the International Criminal Court sitting at Netherlands on the witnessed mass killings, destruction of properties and scores of injuries meted upon kenyans by the police on previous anti government protests  

In a lengthy statement to newsrooms on Monday 17th July, the civil societies led by Operation Linda Ugatuzi Initiative, have accused the government of killing people while peacefully and constitutionally protesting against President William Ruto’s punitive finance act, corruption and impunity 

They alerted ICC of certain politicians in Kenya who are fueling, funding and encouraging inter ethnicity cruelty and killings, warning them to be ready of ICC,s sharp hook

According to the group, some of utterances made by section of Cabinet Secretaries including Trade, Investment Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria as inciting for genocide war, Kuria warned of assassination plot on Wednesday morning to the opposition leader Raila Odinga 

“Such incitements might put the country into endless conflicts. ICC should intervene. We have gathered enough evidence and witnesses. 

Therefore, shall engage ICC from tomorrow virtually to launch a case against Ruto, Kindiki, Inspector General and Gachagua,” Part of statement read 

Led by their Chairperson, Dr Frederick Ogola, they have called for ceasefire demanding President William Ruto to be magnanimous and unite the country instead of anger, arrogance and forcefulness

“We don’t want postmodern strategies; we need preventive strategies. We have learnt from the 2007-2008 post election violence and the way the trials went. This time we are going to use institutional witnesses not individuals that can be scared with death and money,” The scholar added

Being privy of the State House meeting convened by Ruto, with Kenya Kwanza members of parliament, they claimed of the know of the directives over the Wednesday’s planned anti-government protests 

“President has directed MPs to rally their troops who are actually goons against Azimio protests. This is plan blood bath. Also the Kithure Kindiki declaring curfew is worries and it’s unconstitutional,'” Operation Linda Ugatuzi wrote on Monday

They further blamed government for the destruction of Expressway barriers since all the Kenyans who were killed during the last week’s demonstrations were a result of stray bullets from police not civilians 

“These are clear crimes against humanity. We demand that the president comes off his high horse and engages Azimio leadership genuinely and objectively to help unlock the current stalemate the country is experiencing,” The press statement read.
