All Saint’s Cathedral Archbishop Jackson Ole Sapit has called President William Ruto to retract the promises he made to 2027 and 2032
“Forget your flowery campaign promises, transfer them to 2027 and 2032, if need be. Tell Kenyana truth that promises were unrealistic. It’s time to live within our means without breaking everyone’s back,”. Archbishop bursted
Ole sapit, clearly stated that, the current finance bill 2023, over taxation and the whole discussion about the budget making process, is an indication that, Kenya ain’t moving in the right track
Elsewhere, United Democratic Alliance Vice Chair Seth Panyako has resigned citing lack of goodwill from government to what their party promised kenyans during campaign period
Speaking separately at funeral of a former politician, Joseph Hamisi, Panyako said that the cost of living has gone up contrary to their words
This comes after he could not come into terms with the President William Ruto about proposed Housing Fund. He stated that most Kenyans are already struggling and more levies would be a load on their back
“We promised to reduce the price of Unga, Sugar and Fuel, but right now we’ve doubled their price, university fees have been doubled! What is the need of me pretending? I have decided to come back to people and join them He stated that, prior to his decision, had talks with the Head of State at 7PM and it seemed that he could not continue with the role given is opposing housing fund and high cost of living
“On behalf of my late friend, I want to announce that I have resigned from my position at UDA because cost of living has become unbearable.
I have decided to stick with the rest of Kenyans because during campaigns, we used to say kazi ni kazi, pesa mfukoni. Now, they are saying kazi ni kazi, pesa kwq serikali,”.
He questioned on why the government wants to put this load on Kenyans yet they are in a position to pool resources that can facilitate the housing project.
“Government must be creative enough to have the resources to do this housing project. Why can’t they use the funds that are already available to do this? This housing project is cheap,”.
