Kagombe wants, Cabinet Secretary for National Treasury and Economic Planning, Prof Njuguna Ndung’u recover Sh78,764,00 paid to Uhuru Kenyatta, Sh388,810,000 paid to Raila Odinga and Sh375,790,000 paid to Kalonzo Musyoka

“Aware that the Presidential Retirement Benefits Act, 2003 and the Retirement Benefits (Deputy President, and Designated Officers) Act 2015 provide for the granting of pension and other retirement benefits to holders of the office of President, and the offices of the Deputy President, Prime Minister, Speaker, Chief Justice or Deputy Chief Justice respectively when they ceased to hold office after January 1993.

Since inception the law has been fully implemented through processing of benefits due to the designated former state officials; noting that, the law specifies the circumstances under which benefits may not be paid,’’ part of the motion read

The first-term legislator argues that the beneficiary may not be paid if has been found guilty of gross misconduct, or holding office in or actively engaging in the activities of any political party or ceasing to hold office on account of having acted in willful violation of constitution

The immediate retired President, retired Prime Minister and the 10th Vice President  have continued to receive retirement benefits despite violating various clauses of the Act, specifically clause 4(d) bas, since ceasing to hold office, held office in, or actively engaged in the activities of, any political party, therefore as custodian of the law and public resources, this House resolves to recover all monetary benefits paid to aforementioned former state officers,’’ It included.

He’s further urging the Treasury CS to furnish the House with the data on the payments made to the aforesaid retired state officers since their respective retirement benefits

“Further, aware that the act specifies the conditions under which retired presidents, prime minister and vice presidents are entitled to receive retirement benefits, this house resolves that the government through the national treasury terminates further payment of retirement benefits to the immediate former President, the retired Prime Minister and the 10th Vice President, and recovers any amounts paid to the aforementioned former State Officials,’’ He added
