Nanyuki Market Put Standstill as Chris Brown Launches Manifestoes

Thingithu Ward Member of County Assembly aspirant George Ndung’u Muhia alias Chris Brown has today donated over ten trolleys to the needy traders for boiling and hawking smokies and eggs to 

The trolleys will be used to boil and hawk eggs within the Nanyuki town in a bid to create jobs for thousands of interested youths but lacking capital to start the venture 

It costs about Ksh 4000-5000 per trolley depending on the capacity of number of eggs and smokies one can hold and keep hot

Speaking on Tuesday 12th July at Nanyuki market during the launch of his manifestoes, Chris Brown told traders that he will construct a modern market shed for all stalls since they have been neglected by the current leadership

“I went round counting the number of stalls selling foodstuffs and vegetables and found they are 840 whereas those selling clothes are 312 multiplied by Ksh 50 twice a week, you contribute to over Ksh 120 million but you don’t have a standard market shed and electricity.

If you elect me come August 9th General Election, within 100 days of my leadership, you will see the change am advocating for,” Brown said

He also pledged to recruit security personnel who will be manning the trader’s stalls within the market instead of spending their hard earned profit to employ security personnel

Education 

On matters education, the younger energetic candidate promised to be awarding secondary school students with a bursaries of Ksh 5000 and college students with over Ksh 10,000 per  every financial year 

Security 

Brown who is contesting on an independent candidate said that Thingithu residents needs several police stations and he will make sure that security is beeped up to counter marauding criminals risking their lives

He also took issues with the infrastructure where he promised to upgrade feeder roads to bitumen standards 

Health facilities

Mr Muhia also pledged to put up health facilities and a dispensary to enable residents access free medical services at ease without trekking long distances looking for such much needed services

“You have seen our people when they go to Nanyuki Teaching and Referral Hospital, they are told to pay money for insurance, and in such critical conditions, one is demanded to pay ambulance money about Ksh 25,000 , surely, where will you get that money from? Brown questioned

I will make sure have bought one ambulance which will be operated by our own driver, whenever a resident from Thingithu is sick, will only be required to dial a number and ambulance comes to pick him or her free of charge,” He assured

“It’s my idea on Health Matter’s concerning Thingithu Ward fraternity .Is one of my developing agenda on how we shall help our people in different areas in Thingithu due to lack of enough health facilities in Thingithu ward,”He added

Women and Youth Empowerment

The incoming Member of Thingithu Ward County Assembly also pledged to empower women and youths with Uwezo Fund to boost the growth of their businessess and stabilise economically

His oratory prowess is unrivalled when speaking the Kikuyu language where he has mastered the piece of dialect in wooing supporters from across the villages of Thingithu Ward
