KRA waives interests, penalties accrued 2023

The Government has re-introduced the Tax Amnesty on interest and penalties for tax debt accrued up to 31st December 2023.

According to a press statement issued on Friday 27th December, by taxman, Kenya Revenue Authority, the body urged all taxpayers to use the golden opportunity in clearing outstanding tax obligations

The duration of the program runs from 27th December 2024 to 30th June 2025

Some of the important key highlights is an Automatic Waiver – If all principal taxes due by 31st December 2023 are fully paid, penalties and interest will be automatically waived.

There is also a, Payment Plan Option – If principal taxes remain unpaid, you can apply for amnesty and propose a payment plan to clear outstanding taxes by 30th June 2025.

This is a great opportunity to resolve outstanding tax liabilities and avoid accumulating further penalties and interest.
