In the revocation, CAS for ICT Dennis Itumbi and Daniel Ndambuki aka Churchill are among the casualties 

A petitioner Charles Mugare had moved to court to challenge the constitution of the council which made President William Ruto not to launch the programme on 2nd June at State House 

The owner of Churchill Show Television Programme Daniel Ndambuki and Mwalimu King’ang’i on radio shows respectively allias Churchill has lost his job in Kenya Kwanza Government 

Daniel Ndambuki [Churchill] had been appointed in the February 2023 Gazette Notice alongside other famous celebrities including Azziad Nasenya, Esther Akoth (Akothee) and digital strategist who’s Chief Administrative Secretary to the Ministry of Information Communication and Digital Technology,  Dennis Itumbi.

The appointees were to serve for three years and help the government identify, recruit and empower talented youths in different sporting categories as well in creative industry

 “It is notified for general information of the public that the Cabinet Secretary for Youth Affairs, Sports and the Arts has revoked Gazette Notice No.1649 of 2023,” read the notice in part.

Other individuals whose appointments were revoked were Spice FM presenter Jimmi Gathu and Catherine Kamau (Kate the Actress).

Sports journalist Carol Radul had also been appointed to the Talanta Hela team as the sports technical committee 

Notably, the CS did not explain why the appointments were revoked.

The revocation of the Talanta Hela appointments was done days after the constitution of the body was challenged at the High Court. 

In a directive by Justice Lawrence Mugambi, Gazette Notice No.1649 of 2023 was suspended until the matter was determined by the Court.

“Pending the hearing and determination of this application interparties, an interim order be and is hereby issued suspending the special issue of the Kenya Gazette Notice 1649(Vol. CXXV No.32) dated February 10, 2023,” the judge ordered.
