Students loses one day of learning over public holiday

The Ministry of Education has today pushed the date of reopening for form ones from earlier mentioned date on 3rd May, 2022 to 4th May, 2022.


In a gazettement letter dated 28th April from the ministry’s headquarters is that the directive was arrived after the government announced 3rd May as the public holiday 

The government of Kenya through Cabinet Secretary of interior and coordination of national government Fred Matiang’i had announced five day public holiday from 29th April to 3rd May 2022.


The 3rd of May, 2022 will specifically be to mark the end of Muslim’s holy month  Ramadhan feted as Id-Ul-Fitri


It’s with this interference that the school calendar has been affected hence necessitating loss of one day for the learners 


The circular was circulated to all regional directors of education, county directors of education, sub county directors of education and copied to all relevant institutions including teachers’  associations
