Embakasi East electorates are embroiled in a fight with the Mizani Africa polls which has placed Francis Mureithi, of UDA top if elections were to be held today
The man who was defeated in 2017 by the current MP was insinuated to enjoy popularity of 49.8% in the Embakasi East constituency
The embattled research firm which has always been alleged to be owned by Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro, indicated that incumbent MP Babu Owino’s popularity stands at 40.4%
However, the gun blazing former University of Nairobi student leader and leader of Central Organisation of African University Students (COSU) Babu dismissed the polls
He has shared another poll recently conducted by another research firm, Infotrak, which indicated he enjoys 65% popularity
This is after the pollster released a report indicating that the vocal Embakasi East MP Babu Owino would lose to his arch-rival Francis Mureithi if elections were held today
The disputed findings of the research purported that Mureithi, who is eyeing the seat on the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) enjoys popularity of 49.8% in the constituency.
On the other hand, the research indicated that the incumbent MP Babu Owino who is seeking re-election on ODM ticket popularity rate stands at 40.4%.
Michael Ogada Okumu, Stephen Maina Waruingi, Mich Mzito and Joash Omwenga, who are also eyeing the seat, had 5.9%, 1.7%, 1.3% and 0.9%, respectively
On his part, Babu dismissed the poll sharing another poll recently conducted by another research firm, Infotrak, which indicated he commands a 65% popularity compared to Mureithi’s 15%.
