Azimio Women Leaders endorses Homabay Governor Gladys Wanga ODM top position

Azimio Women Leaders have now urged the ODM top brass to consider awarding Homabay Governor Gladys Wanga with a top position in ODM that can enable her be in decision making table 

While addressing media at Nairobi, leasers led by Kisimu County MP Rozaah Buyo flanked by ten others sought Party Leader Raila Odinga to at least give women another position after Mbita MP Millie Odhiambo, nominated by ODM as Minority Whip

Acccording to their stance, Wanga exemplifies an enigma and has has charisma to incorporate issues of marginalized groups within the Azimio Coalition without any sort of discrimination 

“We are just asking but not tokinism, and not a favour because the person we are fronting on is the current chair of ODM in Homabay. She has shown all merits to tackle women issues, youths and even people with disabilities without being coerced,” Samburu West MP Naisula Lesuuda stated. 

The women leaders drummed up support to Mrs Wanga, pouring accolades and her requisite leadership skills that can be tapped and emulated by aspiring young women leaders as a beacon of hope and reliability 

The positions in the party emerged after the FOUR GENERALS, namely: Former Mombasa and Kakamega Governor Hassan Joho and Wycliffe Oparanya who were both Deputy Party Leaders have been nominated as Cabinet Secretaries 

Joho goes to Mining, Blue Economy and Fisheries, previously held by former Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya

Former Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya who was also Deputy Party Leader was nominated by President William Ruto as CS for Cooperatives and MSMEs

Former National Assembly Minority Leader and ODM Political Affairs Secretary Opiyo Wandayi was also nominated as CS for Energy and Petroleum, his position was replaced by Suna East MP Junet Mohamed 

James Mbadi who was the ODM Chairperson and National Assembly Public Accounts Committee which is reserved for opposition is heading to Finance Ministry. His earlier position has been given Saboti lawmaker Caleb Amisi deputised by Funyula MP Oudo Ojiambo
