Deputy President William Ruto has sought forgiveness from President Uhuru Kenyatta during the national breakfast prayer
Speaking on Thursday 26th May,at Safari Park Hotel, Nairobi, Ruto sought kenyans to forgive him of the mistakes he has done in the helm of deputy president and also not performing as expected
“I have fallen short of expectations of my boss the President of the Republic of Kenya, but i seek your forgiveness
Also in this journey, many people have hurt me a lot but on this prayer i forgive everyone. It’s my prayers that we enter into elections; free of debts, free of all hurts and insults and free from an unforgiving hearts,” Ruto opined.

He also reiterated the need of peaceful elections and emphasised that Kenya Kwanza Coalition will support whoever will win, “we shall respect democracy and accept the will of people,” Ruto noted
“Its my prayers as you head to retirement that God will give you every aspirations of your heart, and make it possible to enjoy the legacy you have built and to enjoy every time that God will give you, that’s my prayers,” he added
At the same time, Azimio’s deputy running mate Martha Karua requested all leaders to embrace peaceful campaigns through propagating best ideas and manifestos rather than character assassination and attacking one another
“Kenya has grown out of politics of ethnicity, hatred and hate speech, our democracy is stronger than before, lets stop hypocrisy and our words should match our actions; before, during and after general election,” Karua said
President Uhuru Kenyatta said the task of building a nation is bigger because President is supposed to pass the baton of presidency unbroken from generations to generations
“I do hope the prayers of my good friend William Ruto will come through, by the grace of the Lord, we shall be meeting on the other side of my life, outside there,” Uhuru said
Chief Justice Martha Koome told leaders to embrace unity during this electioneering period since the country is bigger than everyone’s
“I pray against all forms of violence in this election period as our country is bigger than politicians,” Koome noted
